Praise & Prayer Directives - January 2012

This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.

Zechariah 4:6
  1. Strengthening and the building up of the King of Kings congregations -- English and Hebrew.
    • Praise God for successfully reaching the financial goal set for December 31st in giving, fasting, and prayer for the "cleansing of the gates" initiative concerning redeeming and restoring the area surrounding the congregational entrance.
    • Praise God for the believers that are daily offering their gifts and work in service for the kingdom to come here in Jerusalem.
    • As in the book of Nehemiah, may kingdom gates and walls be raised up and restored for the protection and growth of believers in this land.
    • Pray for our pastoral staff and KKCJ Team leaders for gifts of wisdom and grace toward able leadership.
  2. Jerusalem Prayer Tower
    • We ask the LORD to protect Israel's diverse citizens and state both from dangerous elements within and without as changes are taking place in our region that are a serious detriment to security. May all respond with godly wisdom in action to increasing threats.
    • We agree together for the LORD to send additional musicians to lift up praise and song to His great Name, going before spiritual warfare in the Jerusalem Prayer Tower.
    • We praise God for joy, deliverance, healing, and testimonies of freedom accompanying the worship dance, adoring our LORD.
    • Together let us ask God for an increase in healings and deliverance to be seen daily in our midst and in Healing Pools.
  3. Children's Ministry
    • Please pray for the moving of the Holy Spirit among the children that the Lord would give the children a hunger to know Him and to be changed by Him.
    • Praise the Lord for bringing many children to participate in last month's tri-congregational Hanukkah one-day event and for the great prayer time we had with the children. Please pray that the seeds sown into the children's lives will bear lasting fruit.
  4. Kings Media School
    • Our students and staff finished up last semester with an amazing display of creative music videos. Pray that God would impart fresh creativity to the students this next semester beginning this month.
    • We pray in agreement that God would send students to the school that He intends to study here.
    • Praise God for our capable teaching staff. We pray they are able to fulfill all the works God has ordained for them to accomplish.
  5. Yuval School of Music and the Arts
    • We thank God for students and staff entering the new year with space to learn and grow.
    • We pray for volunteers to help protect and keep watch over our premises while the young people are learning.
    • We praise God for a songwriting composer's seminar to be held on January 13th in the Pavilion -- bring forth your new songs, LORD!
    • Pray for our worship team and all that concerns them that they will receive inspiration and hearts filled with continuous praise.
  6. Discipleship Study Growth Groups
    • Praise God for strong participation in our men's and women's groups launching into the gospel of Matthew chapter 7.
    • Pray for our small study groups that many will receive insights into the Word and relational growth will flourish.
Thank you for joining us in prayer and thanks for these vital ministries. May the LORD hear your prayers and fulfill your needs. Amen.

Prayer

Prayer is “not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” that the work of the Lord be accomplished ( Zech 4:6 ). Oswald Chambers used to say something to that effect in emphasizing that believers should not pray to do the work of God, but recognize that prayer is the work of God!

Prayer has a very high priority for our congregation. We pray together as a staff, have congregational prayer meetings, early morning men’s prayer, and other times of intercession. Because Israel’s restoration is so central to God’s plan, we intercede specifically for this nation, having several prayer meetings each week and encouraging our people to be involved in other Israel-specific prayer gatherings throughout Jerusalem.

The Bible is full of the prayers of the saints, and Yeshua Himself is the greatest example of a “man” not doing anything without prayer. Have you ever considered that for three and a half years, He preached and performed signs and wonders – but for the last 2,000 or so years, He has been interceding for us! If Messiah Yeshua deems intercession that important, shouldn’t we also labor at prayer?

The prayer of the righteous is God’s delight ( Prov 15:8 ). So give Your King some pleasure this very day and seek Him in prayer.

Finally, we see that what the Apostle Peter wrote so long ago is even more vital today:

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1 Pet 4:7
